Ever Changing

Ever Changing

All I wanted was a new banner for my WordPress Blog… In the process I am having to learn Photoshop. Layers, brushes, fills, oh my. It has been a great learning experience. I sit down thinking OK today is the day I will make a banner that I like….In the process I learn a new trick along the way and end up with nothing I envisioned.. Maybe that is why I am having so much fun. I just never know what I will end up with. So if my blog changes often you will understand it is just me playing in Photoshop..again…and again…. It is like “The Mood Blog” it changes all the time according to my mood. Back to more learning!

Peace,
Tracy

Learning To Edit My Theme

Learning To Edit My Theme

learning

Just a little FYI:

Over the last week or so I have been trying to learn to edit my wordpress them. Elements on my page are only temporary until I put the whole design together and decide on what I want it to look like. in the mean time things might look a little off. In the meantime I did not want to win the ugliest wordpress blog award.

Peace,
Tracy

“Put The Potato Chips Down, This Is Your Ass Speaking”

“Put The Potato Chips Down, This Is Your Ass Speaking”

scared-cat-cartoon-kitty-frightened-of-fat-lady-from-behindSpring is right around the corner and you have spent all winter on the couch and computer eating way to many greasy chips and sweets. You have packed on a few pounds and tell yourself, ” I will start exercising and watching what I eat tomorrow”

Tomorrow Tomorrow, this is not “Annie”, although the sun might come out tomorrow, those extra pounds will not magically become sunshine and butterflies. That magic pill you want to try will never be able to replace what good old fashion exercise and good nutrition will do for you. So back away from the potato chips and snake oil and do it the right way!

Weight loss is a great benefit and number one motivator for people to start exercising however it is not the ONLY benefit.

Top 10 Reasons To Exercise

  • Exercise Boosts Brainpower-

Exercise increases energy levels and increases serotonin in the brain, which leads to improved mental clarity. Serotonin levels are believed to be the reason for many cases of mild to moderate depression which can lead to symptoms like anxiety, apathy, fear, feelings of worthlessness, insomnia and fatigue.

  • Movement Melts Away Stress-

“Exercise produces a relaxation response that serves as a positive distraction,” says Cedric Bryant, chief exercise physiologist for the American Council on Exercise.

  • Exercise Gives You Energy –

One of the biggest things I hear from people is “I have no energy”. I am too tired to work out. Well good news, working out releases endorphins into your blood stream giving you more energy. So the tired you feel from every day activities is not the same tired you experience from working out.

  • You can fit Exercise Into Daily Routine-

Another big excuse is, ” I just don’t have time” Recent U.S. government guidelines say that to lose weight and keep the weight off, you should accumulate at least 60 minutes of exercise a day
More good news, By changing up a few things in your everyday life you can fit it in. Schedule meetings and visits at the track or golf course. Make the most of family time by playing hide and seek, going for a bike ride, taking a hike, or go swimming. Your kids will benefit from not only family time but get exercise as well.

  • Exercise gives you Peak Performance-

Consistent exercise improves flexibility, muscle strength, improved balance and reaction time. People who work out notice that their cloths fit better, their arms look better, and have better body tone

  • Exercise Helps Relationships-

It is always more fun to work out with a partner, so grab your husband or a friend and go for a walk, meet for tennis or a bike ride. People who have exercise partners stay with their programs and reach their goals more often than those who try to go it alone.

  • Exercise Helps Ward of Disease-

Research has shown that exercise can slow or help prevent heart disease, stroke, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, type 2 diabetes, arthritis, osteoporosis (bone loss), and loss of muscle mass, it can also boost immune function keeping you out of bed with the flu. Exercise can also good for the aging process( always check with a Doctor before starting your exercise program)

  • Exercise Pumps Up The Heart-

Exercise helps strengthen the heart making daily living easier. No more huffing and puffing to carry groceries in. Our heart is the biggest muscle in our bodies we need to protect it.

  • Exercise Lets you Eat More-

You can sneak that cookie every now and then in moderation because you are working out. Pound for pound, muscle burns more calories at rest than body fat. So the more muscle you have, the higher your resting metabolic rate.

  • Exercise, Not just for losing weight-

Weight loss is the biggest reason people exercise, but is not the only benefit. People who start fitness programs that do not see rapid weight loss results tend to feel defeated and want to give up. Take notice of the things that exercise does for you rapidly like feeling better, more stamina, less stress, sense of accomplishment, better body tone and a healthier heart.

Exercise should be a part of your life no matter what your goals are or how you choose to do it.

Dump the chips and get moving, you only get one body treat it kindly.

Quick Tip: Keeping Your Bathroom Sinks Clean of Toothpaste

Quick Tip: Keeping Your Bathroom Sinks Clean of Toothpaste

200Tired of seeing toothpaste in your bathroom sinks? When you have several people using the same sink to brush daily, there is always that one person who never gets the toothpaste rinsed down all the way.

Furniture polish to the rescue!

After you clean your sink thoroughly, give it a quick squirt of furniture polish and polish that baby up. You will be surprised at how nice and shiny the sink looks and how easy the toothpaste washes down. Waaaalaaaaa no more toothpaste.

He was always the Brightest moon

He was always the Brightest moon

December 12 — The Full Cold Moon
Sky watchers will be dazzled by an exceptionally high, bright, and large Moon. In fact, this Moon is 14% bigger and 30% brighter than other full Moons this year.

This must be in honor of my middle sons 21st birthday! Austin has always been the brightest moon in the sky.  Happy Birthday SON!

21 years ago today on a snowy winter night was born my middle child. His birth was exceptionally fast, easy, and almost flawless. I remember when the nurses were cleaning him up, he was a dark shade of purple. His father kept asking”Is he ok” By that time I was a little medicated and just kept saying he is fine but he looks a little purple that’s all. I had no idea why he looked like a purple grape and was so happy he was here that I didn’t even realized there might be a problem.  Since he was delivered so fast, he took in a mouth full of fluids causing a problem for him to take his first breath. The nurses worked quickly to clear his airways, he then welcomed them by pissing all over them ( that’s my boy) then out came his first perfect scream. From that day forward he was a delight to raise, smart, funny and always marched to the beat of his own drum.  Austin has always been a  true blessing in my life. Through the years he has made me laugh more then should be allowed by a mother. His harmless antics have always kept me entertained. I love his free spirit and his uniqueness.
Here we are today 21 years later, how I wish I could go back to the years when he was just a small boy and re-live them if only for one day. I would hug him and hold him in my lap like I use to. Those years just flew by to fast!
Today,  I am watching him grow up to be a good man. He is learning about responsibility, working a full time job, and standing up for what he believes in. I am so proud of him and so proud to be able to call him son. I must admit him moving away from home was a tough one for me. I miss our late night chat sessions about life, but I look forward to the new things to come in life for him and can’t wait to share each moment I am able to.
Happy Birthday Austin I love you, thank you for being a wonderful son and always making me proud. Thank you for giving me 21 years of love and laughter ~ MOM
